Other Worship Opportunities

Acolyte Ministry

All children in grades 2nd - 6th are invited to serve in our Acolyte program. Training is required. For questions or to sign-up your child, contact our Acolyte Coordinator, Angie Karstens, at askemployeebenefits@comcast.net.
 


Children's Sermon

Our Children's Sermon, called the ABC Club, is a 3 minute lesson offered to all children at the 8:30 & 11:00 am worship services. Books with suggestions for lessons and topics are available. If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact our ABC Club coordinator, Colleen Friddell at colfrid5@tds.net.


Drama Team 

  • Provides drama for worship in the form of monologue, dramatic readings, speech choir, and brief skits, all designed to support sermons, lectionary themes, or seasonal emphases.
  • Bi-weekly rehearsals held at the Family Life Center.  Calendar of rehearsals and events sent out in September.
  • Prior acting experience helpful, but not required. 



The Gracefuls Dance Ministry

  • Provides liturgical dance ministry for Advent, Easter and other special occasions during the church year. 
  • Rehearsals are as announced
  • There is currently no age limit, however dance experience is required.

 

 
Songwriting for Worship Ministry
  • Lyricist: Craft lyrics for use with melodies suitable for worship in either/both Contemporary and Traditional formats, using scripture, personal experience, or hymn adaptations. Lyrics should be easily grasped and understood by the average worshipper, while simultaneously communicating deep spiritual truths.

  • Tunesmith: Craft melodies and harmonic progressions suitable for worship experiences in either/both Contemporary and Traditional formats using original or semi-original material. Melodies must be singable and in accessible keys to the average singer.

 Lay Liturgist
  • Special Training Offered
  • Requires Public Reading/Speaking


Seasonal Orchestra Ministry
  • Provides service music for Sunday services at Advent and Easter and other special occasions. 
  • Weekly rehearsals (1 to 1½ hours in length) as announced beginning 4 weeks prior to scheduled service(s)
  • Music reading ability required, with a minimum of 3 years instrumental playing experience.
  • Must provide own instruments.
