"I felt called to be a Stephen Ministry leader because it goes hand in hand with Parish Nursing. Our pastor and I assure that the Stephen Ministry provides 100% confidential care to those in need."

"I was asked to lead the Stephen Ministry by Dr. Clardy, a former pastor. It has been great attending every training session and every meeting  knowing  the Lord is working thru Stephen Ministers to help care receivers. It has been a very spiritual thing and a real blessing for me  to see the healing God has provided."

"I felt God’s call to be a Stephen Minister. The “why part” is totally up to Him. I just know he wants me to be there for others. I have many life experiences to share and many blessings to tell which have made my walk stronger. I hope someone will ask for my fellowship so that God’s will can happen in their lives. And hopefully I can help channel and show His love."

"As Christians we are called to “love one another,” “bear each other’s burdens,” and “encourage and build up one another.” God called me to be a Stephen Minister and I answered, but with reservations. I was deaf. God, in His miraculous timing, provided a modern day miracle and my hearing was restored! Throughout well over 50 hours of training, I learned that God doesn’t demand professional skills. He uses what we have. He has given me the gift of caring, love, compassion, empathy & the ability to relate to those in need.  I offer these gifts, blessings, and my life experiences as a caregiver. Why ask for my fellowship? Why not? You might gain a lifelong friend. Confidentiality is priority #1. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. God promises and so do I."

"I received a paper about Stephen Ministry and I wanted to throw it away but every time I tried I couldn’t. It felt like God was trying to tell me something so I answered His call and I’m glad I did.

It’s a blessing to me that I can share with someone and to be one my care receiver knows what we talk about stays with just us. They know they can trust me. I want my care receivers to know I care and that I want to be of help in any way I can."

"Jesus tells us to share each other’s burdens. Sometimes we are “receivers” in life; sometimes we are able to be 'givers'. I have been both having had many kinds of losses and other experiences. I want to share what I have received from other people God has sent to me.

Being a Stephen Minister gives me a great opportunity to repay/pass on the blessings and unconditional love God has given me.

Bottom line: I want to make a difference; I want to help others."
