WHY DO WE HAVE STEPHEN MINISTERS?
Stephen Ministers provide ongoing Christian care to people experiencing a wide range of life needs or crisis, including: the hospitalized, the terminally ill, those bereaved, the divorced and separated, the elderly, the disabled or handicapped, those in a job crisis, the lonely and discouraged, first-time parents, empty nesters, the sandwich generation, new members of our congregation or community, and those in spiritual crisis.
They can also help the quiet sufferer, the unnoticed. This may be someone who encounters a series of smaller losses, stressed or problems-any one of which he or she could normally take in stride-but when added together post a bigger challenge. If you are going through a situation where you would like to consider a Stephen Minister, please contact Martha Wilson, Peggy McKenzie, Pastor Britt or David Teel. There are also applications for a Stephen Minister in the Narthex. Remember, a relationship with a Stephen Minister is strictly confidential. BOY SCOUT REPRESENTATIVE NEEDED
Grace's Boy Scout Troop 911 is in need of a Chartered Organizational Representative. We would like for this person to be a former Boy Scout/Eagle Scout. You will be the liaison between the Church and the Boy Scout Troop. Your involvement can be at whatever level you would like. Our Troop is growing and we would like to become a more active part of our Chartered Organization. Please contact Jody Looper, Troop Committee Chairman at 243-6395 or thejodylooper@gmail.com if you are interested.

CHARIS HEALTH CENTER
As the new year begins, we would like to remind you of a very vital organization to our Wilson County community. Charis Health Center is a non-profit, faith-based primary care clinic in Mt. Juliet that offers affordable, quality health care to those in Wilson County who have no health insurance. Because of the economy, Charis saw a huge increase of patients last year and expects the numbers to rise again this year. Charis is staffed by dedicated volunteer doctors, nurses and office people. The clinic is supported by donations from churches, civic organizations, corporate businesses, foundations and individuals. How can you help? 1) VOLUNTEER- Charis is open 3 days a week (Mon, Thurs, Fri) and the 2nd Tues of each month and needs medical and non-medical volunteers. 2) DONATE - money is always needed, when you donate supplies that allows Charis to spend the extra money on patients and their needs, equipment is also needed (just ask). Supplies needed:
paper towels, kleenex, hand soap, bandaids, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, individually wrapped Neosporin or similar, cleaning supplies, etc. There is a box in the narthex labeled Charis Health Center for supply donations. 3) PRAY - prayer is the most important thing you can do! Do you shop online? A program called igive.com allows you have a percentage of each and everything you purchase online be allocated to Charis Health Center. It's an easy way to show your support for a ministry in our community that is making such a difference in people's lives. Go to igive.com and sign up today!
